Do you ever want to know who's watching you or looking for you? Having "web bots" that review logs around the Internet let's you identify people looking for you, or searching for specific keywords. In some cases, you can even automatically scan the person looking for you and the particular computer they are using, whether they have any vulnerabilities, etc.
